VAJRACCHEDIKA SVAHANA MANI VIHARA TEMPLE, PENANG

PROJECTS FOR VAJRACCHEDIKA SVAHANA MANI VIHARA TEMPLE, PENANG
I was approached by Vajracchedika Svahana Mani Vihara Temple at 488-C, at Jalan Pokok Ceri, 11500 Ayer Itam, Penang to help them in organizing the following projects :-

Phor Oon & Cheow Thor – 30 March 2006

I organised the “Phor Oon & Cheow Thor” Prayer Ceremony at Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society, Macalister Road, Penang on 30 March 2006.  We also made donations of RM1,000/- each in the name of Vajracchedika Svahana Mani Vihara Temple to six charitable organizations from this fund raising.

12-days “Three Steps, One Bow Ritual

I helped Reverend Cheng Chiao of Taiwan to perform the 12-days “Three Steps, One Bow” Ritual round Penang Island starting from 26 September 2006 to 7 October 2006.  This Ritual covered 6 km daily from 7.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. to pray for world peace and for the communities to be free from all calamities.

Tay Chay Ong Por Sat

In the year 2007, Reverend Tai Yang sent from Taiwan the 18 feet image of Tay Chay Ong Por Sat to Penang addressed to me.  Therefore, I felt it my responsibility to ensure that this image of Tay Chay Ong Por Sat was properly delivered and installed at his Temple at Jalan Pokok Ceri, 11500 Ayer Itam, Penang.

Tay Chay Ong Por Sat had made a vow that so long as Hell is not empty, he would not become a Buddha.  Since he had made such a great vow, we felt that we owe him a gratitude to have his image put up in Penang for everyone to pray to him for peace, harmony and safety from all calamities.

However, due to shortage of funds, the Tay Chay Ong Por Sat stood under the rain and sunshine for three years.  I felt it my responsibility to give his image some protection. I went there very often to pray to Tay Chay Ong Por Sat in between my tears I appealed to him for help to get donations.

Therefore, during the “Kow Ong Yeah” festival in 2010, I helped organize the nine-days Vegetarian Food Fair to raise funds to construct a shelter for Tay Chay Ong Por Sat’s image at Jalan Pokok Ceri.  Tay Chay Ong Por Sat’s image was officially opened with a 3 days Ceremony starting from the 6th day to the 8th day of the Lunar First Moon in 2011.  We prayed to 3,000 Buddhas during this Ceremony.  On the last day of the Ceremony we prayed to Jade Emperor (God of Heaven).  On that evening we also gave 1,000 packets of vegetarian beehoon, 1,000 bottles of water and red packets to the old folks and beggars who lined up the road leading to the Jade Emperor Temple.  I collected over RM100,000/- for the construction of the shelter for Tay Chay Ong Por Sat’s image.

May all the Budhas, Devas and Tay Chay Ong Por Sat bless everyone.
